Stewart Filshill, our franchise director in Leven, celebrates 10 years of business this month. We asked Stewart what he remembers about his first year in business:
“In the early days I was completely obsessed with my business,” Stewart told us. “It was with me 24/7. In our first year we managed to sell over 200 houses with only three members of staff. I am not quite sure how we managed it!
“Our girls were four and two years old when we opened. I remember in the very early days my wife and I would put them down to bed and then get back to work, sitting at the kitchen table running over the day’s business and focusing on the next day ahead. My passion for good service is as strong as ever but I have fortunately managed to find a better work/life balance as we have grown the business.”

Ten years have flown by
Stewart told us a little more about the way things have changed since the business was established in Leven.
“Ten years have flown by,” he remembers. “It wasn't until I looked at a picture of me and my daughters in our office just before our opening that I realised how much time has passed. Our level of detail and commitment has never changed and has been the foundation for our success.
“We have grown our business from three to eight members of staff over the ten years that have passed. The growth of the team means we are now able to offer fantastic mortgage advice** and comprehensive property letting management in addition to our property sales.”
Great friendships along the way
Finally, we asked Stewart if he had any favourite memories from the past ten years.
“We have made great friendships along the way,” Stewart told us, “and now benefit from a huge amount of repeat business. The passion for delivering outstanding results for our clients continues to be our main motivator. Last Christmas a customer came into our office with wine and chocolates. We sold her property seven years ago, and she said that she will never forget what we had done for her. Moments like that make all the hard work worthwhile.”
