July 2017 - Scottish rental yields continue to perform strongly
Strong returns for landlords continue
Scottish properties continued to reward investors with high returns this month, Your Move Scotland found.
Across Scotland, the average yield was 4.9% during June 2017. This rate is exactly the same as both last month and June 2016.
This stability compares favourably with properties in England and Wales, where landlords have continued to see their yields squeezed in the last year.
In June 2017 the average yield across all of England and Wales was 4.4%, much lower than the equivalent Scottish figure.
Only landlords with properties located in the North East and North West regions of England enjoyed higher or equal returns that those in Scotland. This month these two English regions offered yields of 5.2% and 5% respectively.
