Strong returns for landlords
Yield levels in Scotland held firm between March and April, with the average return actually higher than at the same point last year.
This month the average yield was 5%, Your Move Scotland found. This is the same as last month and above the 4.9% figured recorded in April 2016.
This yield also compares strongly to property investment in other parts of the UK. Landlords in Scotland continue to see much better returns than the typical investor in England and Wales, where the average yield in April stood at 4.4%.
Only landlords in the North East and North West regions of England enjoyed better or equal returns – 5.2% and 5% respectively – during April.
