Walderslade is situated in an enviable position on the slopes and valleys of the North Downs. The name Walderslade is believed to come from the Saxon language, meaning "wood in a valley".
Walderslade valley was originally totally wooded however over time the woodland became restricted predominately to the higher ground of Lord Wood and Dargets Wood. It is thought that the Romans first started clearing the woodland, paving the space for many new residential developments, comprising of the individual and uniquely designed purpose built properties that exist today.
