In the Central Lowlands of Scotland lies the historic town of Falkirk. Once a key centre for heavy industry during the Industrial Revolution Falkirk remains a hot-spot for many international corporations, including the largest producer of buses within the UK, Alexander Dennis. In a poll conducted in 2011, Falkirk was voted ‘Scotland’s most beautiful town’. Falkirk has plenty to offer both those interested in the arts and sports, with a central contemporary Art Gallery, and Football, Rugby, Hockey, Basketball and Archery clubs also in the town. With a main railway station Falkirk is ideally positioned for access to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and London Kings Cross can be reached via a daily direct service via Virgin Trains East Coast.
