Askern is a town located between the two Yorkshire cities of Doncaster and Selby. A town with a varied history, once as a spa town in the late 19th century, thanks to the lake and surrounding wetland gaining a reputation for healing qualities, and then as a coal mining town, today Askern is probably most well-known for its Askern Greyhound Stadium. With reasonable house prices, Askern has an excellent selection of semi-detached family homes, with the town’s good road links to Doncaster, Sheffield and Leeds making the area also attractive in particular for young professionals and commuters.
