Why move to Chester-le-Street?
Chester-le-Street is a market town in County Durham steeped in history dating back to 100 A.D. The Roman fort Concangis was occupied until the Romans left Britain in 410 A.D. A group of monks driven out of Lindisfarne then built a church in honour of the late St Cuthbert who was buried there and in time it became the seat of the Bishop of Lindisfarne.
