Falkirk is a fantastic place to explore during the autumn months. With its mix of parks, local events, and historical landmarks, the area offers something for everyone.

Where should I start?

One of the main attractions in Falkirk is The Helix. It features scenic walking and cycling paths and play areas and is home to the iconic Kelpies. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy an autumn day outdoors. Callendar Park and Callendar House are also popular, offering exhibitions and a glimpse into Falkirk’s rich history. For a countryside escape, Muiravonside Country Park provides longer trails and a working farm, making it ideal for families.

History is deeply woven into Falkirk’s identity. Just under 30 minutes away is Blackness Castle, a must-visit for history lovers. During October, the castle hosts Halloween-themed events and seasonal activities for both children and adults. Another highlight is the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway, where traditional trains run through the picturesque countryside.

What events are happening?

The Falkirk Events Centre is buzzing with activity this season. From magic shows to pumpkin archery, there’s no shortage of family-friendly fun. The town also hosts exhibitions and makers' markets, offering a chance to connect with the local community and support small businesses.

Our autumn highlight

Autumn in Falkirk brings spectacular views, with the orange leaves and early sunsets highlighting the beauty of the Kelpies. Even after the sun sets, the Kelpies are lit up by lights as the night sky highlights their sculptured look.
