On 20th March, the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 came into force in England. The legislation is intended to make sure that rental properties must be legally let and maintained ‘in a state of fitness for human habitation’ right from the start of the tenancy. So it’s more important than ever that your buy to lets come to the market in a good and safe condition and stay that way throughout the term of the lease. (See further information in our blog 'Five changes for landlords to watch out for in 2019'.)

If we manage your property, you don’t need to worry about anything, as we’ll already have made sure it’s up to standard. If you currently manage it yourself and have any questions about the implications of this new legislation, just call into your local Your Move branch and one of the team will be happy to help.
